Joyfully Reviewed has reviewed Bound Eternally and Spaceport: Bounty!

Jambrea had this to say about Bound Eternally:

Bound Eternally is the third installment of the Bound series and it is action-packed.  Not only did Dawn Montgomery give me all the hot sex I could want, she also gave me the action I crave.  The build up from the first two books exploded with this third story.  I’m not sure if there will be a forth book, but I’ll be looking out for it because Ms. Montgomery sure knows how to spin a tale and leave me wanting for more.

Jambrea reviewed Spaceport: Bounty as well:

Bounty is a sexy romp with a Johnny Mnemonic feel to it.  I love a book with action and Dawn Montgomery brings it on with a sexy bounty hunter.  A strong female lead is always good for me and Ms. Montgomery knows how to write a strong woman.  Poor Mack, all he wanted to do was his job and he gets the shaft because of a cover up!  Mack leads Alexis on a great chase and the two are wonderful together.  I really enjoyed the feel of this story from the action both in and out of bed.

Jambrea is fabulous!

Also…COMING JUNE 13th from Aspen Mountain Press:

Shadow Lies, a plain brown wrapper

Fifteen years should have blurred the edges of her memory, but for Kristiana, there is no relief.  A love bite by a vampire has left her enhanced and pissed off. So what does a woman do when her old lover returns and wants to pick up where he left off?

You play to win, of course.  As only a woman can.

Excerpt:
“Am I going to be playing with myself, Alexander?”  She ran a palm down her tight tank top, molding her breast in her hand, squeezing playfully.

He blinked slowly.   She could taste his lust in the air.  Damn him for making her wait.    He undid his cuffs with enough impatience to ease her frustration.  His fingers made quick work of the line of buttons running down his chest, and before she could blink, his shirt was on the floor.

She ran an appreciative gaze down his muscled chest.  The tank he wore molded to his skin, showing her all the right ridges and curves.  Damn.  Her memories did him no justice.

Joyfully Reviewed has reviewed Bound in Lust and Bound in Fury!

Jambrea had this to say about Bound in Lust:

Bound in Lust is HOT! There is no stopping the sexual need in the story. It pulses off the pages. Dawn Montgomery did a wonderful job putting the lust Drake’s character. I know she had me panting!

Bound in Lust is a story that is to be continued. Book two should prove interesting. I can’t wait to go get swept away again.

Jambrea reviewed Bound in Fury as well:

Bound in Fury is just as hot as the first book, Bound in Lust. Bound in Fury continues the story of Elena and Drake and it takes up right where Bound in Lust left off. Dawn Montgomery did a great job showing the inner struggle Elena is going through. Elena and Drake are so smoking hot, they steam up the pages and I love the sexual need between the two. The story doesn’t end here. There is a third book. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I’m absolutely amazed!

Bound in Fury has also received the Golden Rose from Love Romances Cafe and More for best coveart 2007! Congrats Reneé George!

Also, Spaceport: Bounty is up on the New Covey Awards site.  Voting has yet to commence…but I figured I’d link anyway.  LOL.

Bound in Lust: the Reviews are in!

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

dm_boundinlust_large.jpgI am amazed at the awesome reviews coming in for Bound in Lust.  Here’s the most recent.  From Whipped Cream:

Bound In Lust may be short, but it packs a powerful burst of sensual heat, interesting world building and two characters that are explosive together.

Elena is a pawn in a game she has no knowledge of. She has talents and needs that she’s only beginning to know.

Drake is a lust demon who knows the game but not all the players. He is the only one who can save Elena but it means risking himself for the first time, and for a human female no less.

Dawn’s characterization is a perfect balance for such a short piece. I was able to appreciate Elena’s vulnerability yet I got glimpses of her strengths that the enemy has no knowledge of and Drake is all too willing to use.

Drake is a ‘man’ who is so long-lived, he should have been filled with ennui, but finds himself feeling things he doesn’t dare name. I guess I like men of mystery. The tease of a male who is sexy and strong, who knows something and who leaves you unsure if they are good, bad or in that gray area where a man has to be bad to be good.

What Drake does in order to save Elena should make you hot and bothered as well as eager to read more because it certainly did that to me.

You might decide that Elena’s amorphous acceptance of her new status in life might have been too easily won, but I don’t feel that way. I think Elena is adaptable and most importantly, in love with Drake; she just hasn’t faced her heart yet in this installment.

To say the ending took me by surprise is an understatement. What was the surprise?
It ended.

Bound in Lust is written well enough that it has me hooked solid for the next installment. What in the world is going to happen in the second book,Bound in Fury? How hot is the fire going to burn between Elena and Drake? And is the betrayer who I think it is and once Drake finds out, how is it going to affect him? Will it cripple him? Will Elena have to save Drake?

This is so exciting! Dawn has written a wonderful tale in an unusual world where demons are not cliché,the characters have substance and the erotic heat makes you crave to read more.

And I do want more.

Rating:

Normally I don’t post a review in its entirety.  However, I’ve recently received emails from people whose work servers have blocked blogspot, wordpress, and livejournal.  How you can get to my site and not the free blogs is a mystery to me.  *huge grin*  I do ask that you go to whipped cream and give them some love!  Their reviews are thorough and fun.  And to date I’ve agreed with most of them.  A rarity for me, to be sure!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Thank you, C.L.

Today I opened up my Cheeky Changeling (the free ezine Changeling Press releases every month).  I’m a huge fan of Jade Buchanan’s Recipe of the Month.  She’s learning how to cook, so everything she posts is about her amazing success. It reminds me of a time in my life where I realized eating an entire box of hamburger helper, BY MYSELF was not the healthiest choices (my doc even showed me why with scary lab results).  I went out, bought a cookbook and stumbled through cooking.

When I opened the ezine, however…I was shocked to find my cover for Bound in Fury.  You see I didn’t know readers commented on books they enjoyed.  C.L. wrote in with an amazing review of my bound series.  I won’t copy the entire thing here, but I will give you a piece:

Ms. Montgomery has created a fun, wild, sexy ride for her readers to enjoy and some great characters for readers to root for. I’m very much looking forward to reading more of Ms. Montgomery’s work, particularly in this series.

You can read the rest of her review here.

I’m humbled by her review and just giddy with joy that she likes the series!  She’s officially given the first review of Bound in Fury.  A reader’s review is one I hold closest to my heart.  :)  So thank you, C.L.  I hope you’re a viewer of my site and see this.  I’ve already asked the ezine coordinator to pass on my heartfelt thanks for the review.

I encourage any reader who has enjoyed/is currently enjoying a book to contact that author or publisher.  Changeling makes it so easy.  At the bottom of the reader review page every month is the following:

Pssst, readers. Are you too shy to speak up about Changeling Press books you’ve enjoyed? If you want to drop a note to ezine@changelingpress.com and recommend something I’d be more than happy to give it a read and speak up for you : Not only would others get to hear about some great books, you’d be helping me attack my tbr pile <g>

So from the bottom of my heart, C.L., I thank you.

Babes in Toyland was such a blast.  The other authors were so awesome to chat with and I enjoyed all of their stories.  It’s available at Aspen now!

Reviews And Happy Easter!!!

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

Mood : amused

I hope everyone’s enjoying their Easter Sunday!  My son’s still too young to hunt Easter Eggs, but I’m still playing games with him today.  We’re having a blast making each other giggle.  :-)  It’s the little things, yeah?

Cupid’s Arrow has been reviewed!  I’m very excited to say.  :-)

http://romanceatheart.com/review/cupidsarrow.html

Three intriguing short stories pulse with romance making for a prefect Valentine’s Day read. Vibrant characters pull the reader into their enchanting world, barring any intrusion until the final page is turned. From Ms. Jason, A Touch of Sin is engrossing, sizzling with erotic pleasures, invoked only by a redheaded lass and her Scotsman. Psyche and Eros’s lusty interlude opens Ms. Montgomery’s, Eros Lost, then leads into an absorbing story about wayward lovers, and the Goddess who leads them astray. An eerie aura swirls around A Haunted Love, written by Ms. Snyder, brings together two young men for some unearthly clandestine unions.

 Isn’t it awesome!

 On the Writing Front:

I have four works in progress and two upcoming releases.  My father’s illness has kept me from doing more than completing edits and working on my manuscripts.  Sometimes I deal with issues by internalizing and focusing on work, rather than expressing it.  Thank you, again for all the support during his hospital stay.  He’s home now, but has a home nurse with him.   So we’re not out of the woods yet.

On a lighter note…how many times have you gone to a yahoo group only to find a thousand excerpts and promos to wade through?  You want to talk about a particular subject but get overflowed with self promotion…

The Daughters of Circe have decided to have a weekend once a month completely dedicated to the love of one subject.  This month is Science Fiction.  :-)  In a couple of weeks we’ll have a science fiction party.  Talk about your favorite movies, books, hottie heroes and sultry heroines.  Ladies, Gents, and Rogues of all walks-o-life welcome.  No flaming, of course, since this is supposed to be a good time.  Discuss the science behind Star Trek…what is fiction and what is possible.  Bring it on!  We’ll have fun, either way.

Browncoats forever!

Catching Up

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Fictionwise has a review of Own MeCupid’s Arrow is up now!   Woohoo!  So I wonder, how many of you shop at fictionwise?  I love their variety!  It’s 20% off all romance and erotica for the rest of the month.  :-)

I’d like to say a HUGE thankyou to Romance Divas for their awesome Valentine’s Day free read list.  I love their community.  If you came to my site by way of RD, thank you for coming by, I hope you stay a while.

A lot of exciting things are happening!  Several authors I know are up for the PEARL awards tonight.  I hope everyone can make the chat.

My editor at Aspen Mountain Press placed 15 overall in the Preditors and Editors Poll.  Yay Nikita! And the fabulous Jinger Heaston (cover artist for both my releases) won the Ariana from EPIC (electronically published internet connection) best ebook cover for 2006 in the categories: Best in Category Horror and Best in Category Mystery, Suspense, Action-Adventure, and Thriller.  She also received the Dirk A. Wolf’s honorable mention in: Category Mainstream, Single Title, Nonfiction, and Poetry; Category Mystery, Suspense, Action-Adventure, and Thriller; and Category Romance, Contemporary Romance, and Historical Romance.

Own Me has had another outstanding review.  I’m thrilled!

And I’ve signed another contract.  More information to come on my series!  :-)  The Free Read was so popular, I’ll be working on one for your enjoyment!  So let me know…how steamy do you want it to be?  :-D

I think that’s all for now.  My science fiction piece has become larger than previously expected.  I’m looking at about 30K when I’m done.  While that may not be much for most, that’s an impressive feat for me.  I love the power and emotion of the short story.

Have a great President’s Day!
