Dawn Montgomery was introduced to reading by a grandfather with great character voices and a grandmother who showed her there were no limits to the imagination. Since then she was rarely without a book in hand. It wasn’t until she was stuck in a rut and unable to find anything she enjoyed reading that she decided to take a hand at writing. Since then she’s penned books she loves to read with characters who spark her imagination.

Stirring, Passionate, Sultry Romance

Home is where you hang your hat…a long-time adage in my part of the Montgomery clan. I’ve lived in eight states and four countries with countless moves in between. Part of the Montgomery curse in quest of adventure, I’m afraid. Alaska is where I currently call home with my three energetic boys and incredible husband. We now have a beautiful and loyal puppy in our household. Ms. Sierra. She’s an excellent foot warmer during writing stints.

I currently have an incarnation of my day job that thrills me almost as much as writing, though there is no chance that it’ll ever replace the black ink of my heart. There’s nothing that compares to the feeling of falling in love with the characters in your books…

What adventures have I had? In my life I’ve been a garland girl at the Texas Renaissance Festival, a cook, a full-time college student on top of a day job, a medical equipment repair technician, security guard, army combatives instructor (and victim-er student- first!), an Airman, a hotel clerk, a bartender, a bus driver, worked in retail, a vocational teacher, a professor’s assistant, a mom, wife, and writer. Most of these jobs went on at the same time in one form or another. I’m never bored. There are too many places out there to enjoy!

Family comes first in my heart, always. With great adventure comes great loss as well, so it’s my goal to enjoy life with my family as much as I can. Life’s too short. Relationships you build and maintain for decades make up the core of who you are.

What do I write? Hot and sensual romance. From action adventure to down home love…I put my characters in the realm of the fantastic. Paranormal, Science Fiction, and Fantasy are my favorites.
