Revenge of the Ants

Well it must be that time of year. If you’ll remember from last year, I was overrun by ants. As a matter of fact, the last time this happened was May 28th of 2008. The wild Texas storm weather has rolled in and the ants have decided to travel into my home. Specifically in my writing cave. So we could call the exterminators again and have them come out and spray. It might actually work outside of the wet season, but it’s May and won’t be dry again for quite some time.

So, I’ve decided to move out of my writing cave. It’s harder to stay focused away from the corner of quiet I’d cultivated, but it’s far better than killing bugs all day while typing. I have less than two months left in this house and the ants will be history.

So that brings up an interesting question: What insane distractions are keeping you from completing your goals and what have you done to work around them?

  1. *snicker* we’ve got ants too, which will be dealt with when we put in new doors, hopefully.

As for distractions, well, lets see, there’s fanfiction, my new obsession with bento boxes and looking at pictures of people’s lunches. Putting recipies into my new program (Souschef) playing with Delicious Library, and listening to the roof leak. I don’t really work around them, I sort of just let them take control.

Ack! Bento! You are singing my song, hon. I looove bento but can’t seem to work up the energy to make any of the really cool lunches. Instead, I hopelessly scour the bento webverse and drool.

Well, let’s see. There’s the MIL coming to visit, the impending move, our kids (all of them) vying for my attention, the kitchen I still have to clean and trying to find you a good place to write.

    Did I miss anything?

    Lurve you an’ stuff.

Ah yes, the upcoming visits are definitely stressing us out. The kitchen is never-ending, my love. Never-ending. And thank you for the new place to write. (He rearranged the bedroom for me to have my desk in a workable place. Love you too, baby.
