A year ago next week I officially became a published author.  How crazy is that?  The actual date is the 5th of January.  This past year has taught me a lot about writing, friendship, critiques, and rejection.

I’ve made two very invaluable crit partners and friends.  Solidified more.  My life has become enriched by the daughters of circe and LAW.  I’ve become a part of two awesome publishers…Aspen and Changeling.  I’ve held the hands (virtually and otherwise) of authors who were devastated by epublishers folding, bad reviews, and hard times and they’ve held mine when I fell apart during my Father’s stints in the hospital, hard times, and career decisions.  I’ve celebrated with them (Yay Kim for being a Brava finalist), and worked hard late into the night to write alongside my crit partners (who have also returned the favor, eh Michelle?).

Most of all, I’ve touched base with readers.  Those who cried with my characters and laughed with them.  A shy email here or there really amazed me.  So as we move on to 2008 I want to say thank you to my friends, my family, and my fans for making being published so worth it.

Wow, guys! This is crazy stuff. In the past two days Babes in Toyland II has received some major kudos from reviewers. From Rogues and Romance it received a MUST Read AND today it has been nominated for the Best 2007 Anthology by the Love Romances Cafe. How wild is that??

Voting for the best of 2007 begins January 1st!  So please stop by and cast your vote on your favorite authors, publishers, cover artists, and more!  Besides, the LRC is a lot of fun to be a part of.  Aspen Mountain Press is also up for Publisher of the Year!  Isn’t that awesome???

Since I’m still under deadline *cough* over *cough* I thought I’d share the cappuccino chocolate morsel recipe I’m going to be using tonight to keep my butt up and writing!

Mocha Caramel Cappuccino Tartelettes

Ingredients:

• 2 packages Athens Mini Fillo Shells
• 15 caramel squares, cut in half.
• 3 oz dark chocolate chips.
• 1/2 cup chocolate covered espresso beans, crushed.
• For Mocha Ganache:
  • 6oz. dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp. instant coffee or instant espresso

My site’s been down for maintenance, so I’m sorry for the lack of posts today!  Bound in Fury has released!  YAAAAY!  I LOVE Elena and Drake.

Hell’s sent the Hunt and Drake has to make a move.  When Elena is nabbed, he has to call in a favor.  What craziness is in store for our couple?  How can they fight off the religious zealots who’d have him banished to the ether?

Okay gang. This week I’m deep under deadline. What does this mean? My shiny blocker goes on. Yes I said shiny blocker. It’s called Temptation Blocker. *Warning: downloading freeware can put your system at risk. Verify it’s from a good source, that your unit is compatible and if all else fails, surf CNET for a review* TB is freeware that saves my bacon when it comes to writing. You see, it’s Christmas, and that means crafts. And cookies. And shiny things that need my attention. So I take two hours out of the day and block the internet and email. Leaving only my IM open (and that’s ONLY if I’m getting the wet noodle from my crit partners).

So at this time I’m going under Deadline. I’ll see you when I come out of my self induced writing rampage. So, I’m off to work on Bound 3: Bound Eternally. I wish you well in this week of insanity shopping.

Wet Noodle: Fictitious object one uses to whip someone into shape. While painless in RL (real life) it leaves one feeling…slimed, if only in imagination. I lurve the wet noodle.
