The Bodyguard

Available now from Loose Id

Blurb:

Elena wants revenge. She’ll give anything to kill the man who raped her. Her bodyguard Nicolas wants her safety…and her love. He’s not about to let anything stop him. Not even the fact she’s a vampire.

 Excerpt:

“Bite me.”

“Are you serious?” Elena Fortescu stared at her bodyguard.

“Dead.” Nicolas Dupree stood his ground.

At six foot six and a wall of solid muscle, he couldn’t be used to having people stand up to him, but she wasn’t afraid of him. It had been a long year. A long, long, loooong year. One where she’d been cooped up in this house. All because of Lucian.

So Nicolas guarded her during the day and her cousin Adrian watched her at night. Since he was human, she’d assumed Nicolas would be easier to manipulate, but Adrian was the one who couldn’t stop her from doing anything. And Nicolas was the one who had her respect. She spent the days either sleeping or with Nicolas. She’d grown to know him very well, and he probably thought he knew her well, but he would be wrong. If he knew what she was he’d tremble in his black boots.

The Hardest Review

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Mood : sleepy

When I receive reviews, I feel priviledged that someone was willing to take the time and explore the emotion of my story.  The one review I’ve been looking forward to, and dreading, was from http://bdsmreviews.blogspot.com/.  All of the reviewers are solid and from a lifestyle perspective.  Here’s what she had to say:

Ms. Montgomery has written a sweet erotic romance with light bondage and spanking. However, this is more along the lines of a couple using aspects of BDSM as a form of therapy. While the story was well written, it lacked in emotional descriptions. Although it contains graphic language and situations, I felt the author skimmed over the emotional aspects of what the heroine was feeling. The concept was present. It just didn’t dig deep enough.

I’m thankful that she asked to see more emotion from Anna’s pov.  I got a solid 3 out of 5.  It’s definitely made me think.  I hope you all are having a wonderful day.  :-)   Who knows…maybe in a couple of years Anna will get a rewrite.  :-)

Reviews And Happy Easter!!!

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

Mood : amused

I hope everyone’s enjoying their Easter Sunday!  My son’s still too young to hunt Easter Eggs, but I’m still playing games with him today.  We’re having a blast making each other giggle.  :-)   It’s the little things, yeah?

Cupid’s Arrow has been reviewed!  I’m very excited to say.  :-)

http://romanceatheart.com/review/cupidsarrow.html

Three intriguing short stories pulse with romance making for a prefect Valentine’s Day read. Vibrant characters pull the reader into their enchanting world, barring any intrusion until the final page is turned. From Ms. Jason, A Touch of Sin is engrossing, sizzling with erotic pleasures, invoked only by a redheaded lass and her Scotsman. Psyche and Eros’s lusty interlude opens Ms. Montgomery’s, Eros Lost, then leads into an absorbing story about wayward lovers, and the Goddess who leads them astray. An eerie aura swirls around A Haunted Love, written by Ms. Snyder, brings together two young men for some unearthly clandestine unions.

 Isn’t it awesome!

 On the Writing Front:

I have four works in progress and two upcoming releases.  My father’s illness has kept me from doing more than completing edits and working on my manuscripts.  Sometimes I deal with issues by internalizing and focusing on work, rather than expressing it.  Thank you, again for all the support during his hospital stay.  He’s home now, but has a home nurse with him.   So we’re not out of the woods yet.

On a lighter note…how many times have you gone to a yahoo group only to find a thousand excerpts and promos to wade through?  You want to talk about a particular subject but get overflowed with self promotion…

The Daughters of Circe have decided to have a weekend once a month completely dedicated to the love of one subject.  This month is Science Fiction.  :-)   In a couple of weeks we’ll have a science fiction party.  Talk about your favorite movies, books, hottie heroes and sultry heroines.  Ladies, Gents, and Rogues of all walks-o-life welcome.  No flaming, of course, since this is supposed to be a good time.  Discuss the science behind Star Trek…what is fiction and what is possible.  Bring it on!  We’ll have fun, either way.

Browncoats forever!

Brain Color–This was fun!

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

I haven’t fallen off the face of the planet.  I promise.  ;-)  I have a very sick father and a few writing projects.  (There’s a pretty exciting free read for you guys.)  I’ll be back in the loop soon, but right now my attention is focused on home and my Mom and Dad.  It’s been a hard month.  So I went surfing for something fun to do and came across this:

Your Brain is Purple

Of all the brain types, yours is the most idealistic.

You tend to think wild, amazing thoughts. Your dreams and fantasies are intense.

Your thoughts are creative, inventive, and without boundaries. You tend to spend a lot of time thinking of fictional people and places – or a very different life for yourself.

What Color Is Your Brain?

If you’re interested, I’ll be at the manlove chat at Realms of Love tonight at 8CST.  Manlove you say?  Yes, m/m erotic fiction.  These are some very talented authors and I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s going on in their writing careers.
